Tab groups allow you to better organize your list of open tabs. A group can have any number of tabs contained within it and each group of tabs will display as a single tab window in the tabs view:
You can create a tab group by:
- Opening the main menu and tapping
Add tab to group, which will add the current tab to the desired group or create a new tab group, starting with the current tab. - Tapping the overflow menu when viewing all open tabs and selecting
New tab group - Long-pressing on an open tab and selecting

When creating a new tab group, you will be prompted to name the group if desired, as well as select a color to associate with the group (note that these can be changed at any time):
You can tap the tab groups button when viewing your open tabs to display all current tab groups you have open in the browser:
Tapping on a tab group in the tabs view will show the group in it's own window, allowing you to scroll through all open tabs contained within.
Note that you can also rearrange tabs here by long-pressing and dragging the tab to the desired position. From this view, you can also:
- Open a new tab within this group in this view by tapping the
+icon. - Edit the tab group title by tapping on the title at the top of the group.
- Change the tab group color by tapping on the colored circle left of the group title.
- Use the overflow menu to do all of the above, as well as delete the group and close all tabs contained within.
When viewing an individual tab that is part of a group, a tab strip will display at the bottom of the screen, showing other tabs that are a part of this group. Tap any of these icons to switch to it.
+ icon on the stripBy default, Brave will open links in new tabs outside of the current group. However, you can set the browser to automatically open links inside the current tab group by going to Settings --> Appearance and toggling the Only open links in current tab group option "on".
