💡 Note that adding chatGPT to Leo requires you to be an OpenAI API customer.

You can use your own personal and/or enterprise ChatGPT model with Leo AI by using the Bring Your Own Model (BYOM) feature. Before you can use ChatGPT with Leo AI, you will need to create an API key to use if you do not have one already. To create an API key for your ChatGPT account:

1. Visit and login https://platform.openai.com/api-keys
2. Click Create new secret key:
   
3. In the Create new secret key menu, give the API key a name of your choosing and select your desired project:
   
   
4. Your secret key should be visible on the page, please copy this key now as it will not be visible again once you click Done:
   
   
5. Now, with your key copied, proceed to the steps below.

To connect Leo to your ChatGPT model:

1. In Brave, Settings > Leo > Bring your own model:
2. Click Add new model
3. Fill in the details:
   • Label: Your chosen name for the model (the particular label can be whatever you would like it to be)
   • Model request name: The model identifier for your model. The model request name is the exact identifier for the GPT model you would like to use. You can view a list of the ChatGPT models you have access to by going to https://platform.openai.com/settings/organization/limits (e.g., "gpt-5")
   • Server endpoint: The API endpoint for ChatGPT, which should be  https://api.openai.com/v1/chat/completions
   • API Key: Your authentication credentials you copied previously when creating your secret key.

Your BYOM page should look something like this (where [Your API key here] is your personal API key):
