How do I connect Brave Rewards to a self-custody wallet? Ikuti
Prerequisites
To begin earning with Brave Ads via Solana you'll need a self-custody wallet, like Brave Wallet, and a small amount of the Solana token. If you already have a Solana wallet and SOL, you can move on to the next step.
- Self-custody wallet: You must have a Brave Wallet or another wallet that supports Solana. You can learn how to setup a Brave Wallet here: Creating your Brave Wallet
-
Solana token: A small amount of SOL is required to create the Associated Token Account (ATA) for Basic Attention Token (BAT). This is a special type of account on Solana that is created to hold BAT on your Solana address. You can learn more about the requirement here.
You can add SOL to your wallet a few different ways:
- Purchasing through an on-ramp provider.
- Depositing or sending Solana from another wallet or exchange.
- Bridging funds to Solana from another chain or network.
Connecting to Solana
Navigate to the Rewards icon in your address bar and click
Connect account. Enable Brave Rewards if you haven't already.
The options to choose between a custodial and self-custody account will appear. Select Brave Wallet.
Choose your desired Solana wallet to connect.
A list of your available Solana addresses will appear in Brave Wallet. Choose the address you wish to connect with Rewards and click Next.
Review the permission duration and select Connect.
Next, you will be prompted to Create BAT account.
Note: You must have SOL on your connected address to proceed. You can learn more about the requirement here.
Brave Wallet will prompt you to review the transaction. Click Confirm to approve the transaction and create your BAT account.
Congrats! Your Solana address is now connected. You can manage your Rewards account at brave://rewards.
