How to Use Multi Tab Context with Brave Leo Follow
Multi Tab Context allows you to include content from multiple browser tabs in your conversations with Leo, Brave's AI assistant. This feature helps Leo understand and respond to questions about multiple pages simultaneously while maintaining Brave's commitment to user privacy, creating a personalized and highly relevant AI conversation.
What is Multi Tab Context?
Multi Tab Context enables you to select which open browser tabs you want Leo to reference during your conversation. You can choose to include or exclude specific tabs, and even upload additional documents directly through the paperclip context selector icon. This allows for more personalized, comprehensive and informed AI conversations while maintaining control over what content Leo can access.
How do I use Multi Tab Context?
- Start a Leo conversation by either:
- Clicking the Leo icon in the browser toolbar
- Entering a prompt in the URL bar and selecting "Ask Leo"
- Use the paperclip icon, the tab context selector, in the message input box:
- Select or deselect specific tabs
- Chat with Leo about your open pages. For example, select open tabs about restaurants or travel plans and ask Leo to help you plan your day.
Privacy & Security
Brave's commitment to privacy extends fully to the Multi Tab Context feature:
- Your conversations and shared contexts are not stored or logged by Brave after a response is generated. No personal data such as your IP address or conversation transcripts are retained. And your conversations and contexts are not used for model training purposes.
- Conversation and context data is discarded from Brave's servers immediately after the chat session ends.
- Your chat history exists only on your device in your local storage. Chats including contexts can be removed from your device in Settings by selecting the option to “Clear Leo data”.
- Chats can be temporary, meaning they aren’t kept in your local storage, and chat history can be disabled entirely so conversations don’t exist on your device or anywhere else after you close them.
Premium Features
Multi-tab context in Brave Leo is free to all users. For those who’d like access to higher rate limits and access to more advanced models, however, Leo is also available as a Premium experience. Users can subscribe to Leo Premium for $14.99/month, and one subscription covers up to 10 different devices across Android, Linux, macOS, and Windows.

If you sign up for Leo Premium, you're issued unlinkable tokens that validate your subscription when using Leo. This means that Brave can never connect your purchase details with your usage of the product, an extra step that ensures your activity is private to you and only you. The email you used to create your account is unlinkable to your day-to-day use of Leo, making this a uniquely private credentialing experience.
