The top sites tiles on the New Tab Page Dashboard offer quick access from any new tab to your favorite or most frequently visited websites. You can toggle between these two options by clicking on the Customize --> Top Sites option at the bottom of the new tab page or via the drop-down menu on the widget itself:

Frequently Visited

This is the default setting for top site tiles. Brave will populate each of up to six tiles with your frequently visited sites as you browse. You can expand this view to up to 9 tiles by clicking on the widget drop-down menu and selecting Show more items. If there are already 6 (or 9) tiles populated on the first page of the widget, additional sites will be added on the next page, which you can view by clicking on the page navigation buttons below the tiles:

Favorites

When the Favorites option is selected, the top sites widget will show specific sites that you've added. By default, six tiles are shown for a more compact look. However, you can have the widget display more tiles by clicking on the widget drop-down menu and selecting Show more items:

This view will expand the widget to display more tiles - up to two rows containing 12 tiles each. Note that in either view, additional tiles added beyond the 24 will be added to the next page, which can be viewed using the navigation buttons the tiles as mentioned previously.

Organize and Edit Top Site Tiles

Your tiles can be edited, removed or rearranged to a new position anywhere on the tile grid at any time. Note that each view (Frequently Visited and Favorites) holds its own list of sites, such that editing (adding/removing) a site in one view will not affect the other. For example, if you have the same site listed in both Frequently Visited and Favorites, removing that site in one view will not remove it from the other.

Adding a Site

When viewing Frequently Visited sites, tiles are added automatically based on how often you visit a site and can't be added manually. When viewing Favorites, you can add a site to the grid using the drop-down menu located on the widget and select Add Site or simply click on the Add Site icon in the widget:

In the resulting Add/Edit site window, you can give the tile a custom name and enter the URL for the site you would like to add. After naming the tile and entering the appropriate URL, click Save changes and your new tile will appear on the grid. Below, I've added Discord to my list of favorites:

Removing and editing tiles

While the widget is displaying Frequently visited sites, you can right-click on a tile to remove it from the grid. If the widget is displaying Favorites, you can change the tile name and URL, or remove a tile from the grid by right-clicking on the tile and selecting Edit Site to edit it's data or Remove to delete the tile:

Rearranging Tiles

Once you have curated your site tiles to your liking, you can reorder them at anytime by simply dragging and dropping the tile to the desired position on the grid:
